Nova Fuels is a technology innovation company that develops biomass-to-fuel conversion facilities with select joint venture partners. Such partners may be municipalities, private corporations, or other qualified entities. The joint venture arrangements allow Nova Fuels to widely distribute its technology without having to manage the day-to-day operation of all facilities. The core process for gasification and synthesis of the blend of fuel alcohols called NovaholTM can be combined synergistically with other technologies to offer a wide palette of benefits to the surrounding community. Examples of these partner technologies are:
- Precast concrete production, using process ash as an admixture replacing a portion of Portland cement. This pozzolonic mixture is growing rapidly in use, known for its superior strength to traditional concrete and the reduction of highly energy-intensive cement production.
- Power generation is a logical synergy, either through direct use of syngas as fuel or through other means of cogeneration utlizing waste heat.
- MSW recycling can recover the highest value use of materials normally landfilled.
- Absorption chillers can utilize waste heat from the gasification process and generate substantial amounts of refrigeration. One planned facility will be supplying the refrigeration for a large fish storage and processing facility.
- Synthesis of other fuel alcohols can be customized through different process configurations and components.
Parties interested in potential joint ventures should contact Nova Fuels via our contact form, accessible here.
