Local Focus with Big Picture Awareness

Nova Fuels is a firm believer in the need for our communities to be as strong and as self sufficient as possible. While this flies in the face of today'sﾠ trend toward globalization, we see the move toward dependency on more remote and unknown sources for what we need - especially finite fossil fuels - as destabilizing and costly at every level.

By separating people from the impacts of their decision making they are less able to make conscientious choices and not informed enough to insist on there being at least one good option to choose from.

By choosing local sources for goods and services we better understand the impacts of our choices, as we are far more likelyand immediately to encounter either the problem or the benefit we have helped create.

By focusing on local, and where appropriate, regional economies, we are capable of communicating better the range of products and services we offer and of being receptive to those who want to know more.
By employing and training as many local people as possible, we support local economies and help recycle trade dollars to generate multiple tax benefits.
By siting our plants in communities that have needs for safely resolving waste issues and for clean burning fuels, we provide local benefits while solving local problems.

Local focus is maintained within a big picture awareness, as we need to balance our processes for meeting local needs with the sustainability of the whole ecosystem. We do not want to cut off our nose to spite our face, nor be so myopic we don't continue to recognize that groundwater, air supply and toxins do not respect man-made boundaries and conventions.

Nova Fuels believes in a balanced approach, being as aware as we can from as many different perspectives as possible, shifting from the micro to the macro and back again.
